When to
Visit Skardu

Best monthsMay–June and September for ideal all-round conditions and comfortable temperatures. For Deosai itself, aim for late June through September — it is usually snowbound until around mid-to-late June.
Peak seasonJuly–August. Busy, hot in the valley. Best for Deosai brown bears and K2 trek season.
Spring blossomApril. Apricot and cherry orchards. Beautiful but roads may still be clearing from winter.
WinterDecember–February. Extreme cold (-20°C possible). Most facilities closed. Flights suspended. For hardy travellers only.
FlightsMost reliable May–October. Winter cancellations can strand you for days.
