When to
Visit Skardu

Best monthsMay-June and September for ideal all-round conditions and comfortable temperatures. For Deosai itself, aim for late June through September - it is usually snowbound until around mid-to-late June.
Peak seasonJuly-August. Busy, hot in the valley. Best for Deosai brown bears and K2 trek season.
Spring blossomApril. Apricot and cherry orchards. Beautiful but roads may still be clearing from winter.
WinterDecember-February. Extreme cold (-20°C possible). Most facilities closed. Flights suspended. For hardy travellers only.
FlightsMost reliable May-October. Winter cancellations can strand you for days.
