Every stop on the world's highest international road — fuel, food, accommodation, viewpoints, turn-offs, and road warnings. The ~800km Islamabad–Khunjerab section mapped in full (the full KKH runs ~1,300km on to Kashgar).
The KKH is fully paved from Islamabad to Khunjerab but conditions vary dramatically by section. The Besham–Chilas stretch through the Indus Gorge is the most technically demanding — narrow in places, rockfall-prone, and completely unlit. Do not drive this section at night.
The Hunza section (Gilgit to Sost) is in excellent condition and is the scenic highlight of the entire highway. Road surfaces improve significantly north of Gilgit.
