Every October, Hunza's poplar and fruit orchards turn brilliant gold and crimson against the snow peaks. It is short, spectacular, and worth planning around.
2026 timing
- Peak colour: typically around mid-October, give or take a week with the weather.
- Where: Karimabad and the orchards below Baltit Fort, Eagle's Nest (Duikar) at sunrise, Upper Hunza around Gulmit and Passu.
- Bonus: crisp air, thin crowds, and clear mountain views compared with summer haze.
